The kids:

We have a highly developed approach to children’s ministry.  Our longer term goal is not to have a ministry TO children, but to enable a ministry BY them in creative arts, personal evangelism and prayer.

The ministry works within our child safety protocols.  We ask all parents to share in a roster to support Jane Hooper – our children’s ministry co-ordinator.

 The money:

It costs about $20.00 per seat per week to keep Oasis operating properly.  Anyone who wants to make sure Oasis will be there should arrange a Direct Debit for that amount on a weekly or monthly basis.

People at the Oasis are likely to have a number of organizations they want to support.  We value the discipline of tithing (using 10% of income as a benchmark for giving), but Oasis does not receive tithes.   There is a prayer table where we can bring reminders of the people we have supported before God.  We don’t take offerings during the service.          top

The worship:

Contemporary music. Communion each week.  Presentations through interviews, workshops or presentations that answer the “how to” questions about the christian faith.      First Sunday each month is a dinner to give us a chance to catch up with one another.  Most weeks there are stories of how God has been involved in our lives.   These range from miracles (including physical healing) to how people cope in situations where a miracle would be much appreciated.   The girls in the photo are some of our worship team on stage with Compliments of Gus at AGMF.     top

Can I help?

There is a growing group of wonderful people who serve God and other people by helping at Oasis.  You can meet the main players on the "team" link.  If you would like to help with music, presentations, childrens ministry, web maintainance, hospitality, or any other way, we would love to meet with you.    top

Weddings, Baptisms, Funerals:

We know these are absolutely special events, and there is no chance of repeating them.  We plan these services with you, handle them very carefully and make sure that they reflect your situation and needs.   top

What we believe:

This is summed up in the Nicene Creed.  This was written in the second century, and has been the benchmark for Christian faith ever since.  We are theologically mainstream, Trinitarian Christians.   We are "post denominational".  That means we have stopped worrying about which Christians are right and wrong.  If people relate to Jesus - that's good enough for us.  We may disagree on all sorts of things - but any friend of Jesus is a friend of ours.  top
